One of our favourite trails for summer is the White River hike, a 12km trail that follows the White River downstream.

We ford the river as we walk down the canyon – a great way to stay cool in hot weather.

As well as the water, there’s a lot to look at – the remains of film sets, the tall cliffs of the canyon, little fish in the water, and a family of herons that nest high in the cliffs near the end of the hike.
