Dahaituo Mountain hiking photos, 2009/10/03

For the first of our holiday weekend trips we headed out to Dahaituo Shan, in the Songshan National Park, on the border of Beijing Municipality and Hebei Province. After a wee bit of messing about (police checks, fire wardens, etc.), we were able to get started and spent six hours hiking through beautiful autumn scenery on a very clear day.

Statistics: 4.75 hours hiking over 15.5km at approx. 3.5km/hr (6 hours total time); start height 1389m, highest point 2199m, approx. 1345m going up, 1365m going down. Estimated 2431kCal burned. Checks of passports by police: 3
