Beijing Hikers - Hiking in the hills around Beijing since 2001

White River to Sihetang hike photos, 2009/10/10

This was our first time to take a group on this hike, and parts of it were a bit different than we expected: it wasn't so difficult, and movie-makers and quarriers had put gravel roads in since we were last there. The rest was as expected - great views of the canyon, river, rocks, reflections of rocks in the water, grass, and reeds.

Statistics: 2.75 hours hiking over 14.5km at approx. 3.3km/hr (4.5 hours total time); start height 225m, highest point 299m, lowest point 103m, approx. 147m going up, 113m going down. Estimated 1228kCal burned. River crossings: approx. ten!
(Stats don't include the post-meal trek.)

The people filming the movie built a road and made some bridges so they could get supplies in.

We were a bit confused about these guys, until we saw the film crew.
