Beijing Hikers - Hiking in the hills around Beijing since 2001

Seasons Series

Beijing is a city with four distinct seasons. This means that you can get a very different experience hiking at different times of the year, even on the same trail.

We think this makes hiking in Beijing very interesting, and in 2011 we're going to start a series where we will schedule the same hike in each of the four seasons. This will let you get a good look at the changes in the countryside over the course of a year.

For 2011, we've picked the Great Wall Spur and Intelligence Valley ss the two hikes in the series: both are excellent, scenic hikes, and they're both good to hike all year round.

We plan is to take a lot of photographs to document the changes, and also want to do a lot of group shots. We're going to pick a few good spots on each hike to do group shots and re-photography, and we'll take photos at the same place each visit.

We hope to print the photographs as well, and if you come on all four of the hikes in a series we'll print a set of the group shots for you as a special gift.

The 2011 Seasons Series starts in wintry January, and will continue throughout 2011.
