Hiking photos - Bashang Grassland trip, 2011/07/29-31
For this weekend trip we visited the Bashang Grasslands, found north of Beijing near the border of Hebei Province and Inner Mongolia. Everyone had a good time on this trip, with the horseback riding and the grassland walking especially enjoyable. We saw a lot of wildflowers, and have been able to identify a few after consulting our books.
It’s a very nice place to visit during the hot summer in Beijing, as everyone wants get away from the heat and the humidity in the city.
The temperature is 6–7°C lower than Beijing during the daytime, and 10°C lower in the evening. It also has better air quality and more blue sky! We saw many stars here in the evening that we usually cant see from the city.
