Hiking photos - New Years Day Longyunshan hike, 2011/01/01

We enjoyed excellent weather for our first outing of 2011, the Longyunshan ‘Dragon Cloud’ Mountain hike.

After climbing up to the Ghost House and making a loop of the reservoir at the top, we followed the river upstream until we found a good spot for crossing over on the ice.

We stopped for a snack in a sunny spot near the cliffs.

From the cliffside, we could see down into the canyon.

On the cliffs opposite, we could see the frozen outflow from the ‘Heavenly Lake.’

We walked up the riverside, looking for a place where the ice was frozen thick enough to walk over.

We eventually crossed the river a little further up from this point.
