Policies for Cancellations and Payments In this document you'll find a plain English version of our policies for cancellation and payments for the 2017 Hiking Festival. We'll refer to the hiking festival as 'the event' or 'the activity'. By making a payment to us you indicate you have accepted and agree to abide by the terms and conditions of this document. Make your payment on or before the payment deadline of September 1, 2017 to guarantee your participation and to qualify for any applicable discounts. Document last updated: June 30, 2017 In brief: * In what circumstances would the event be cancelled, and what would happen * What happens if you cancel your participation * Payment deadline and how to make payment Terms used in this document We/Us/Event Organisers/Beijing Hikers: Beijing Hikers (and employees, associates, affiliates, present, former, and future partners and employees) Participants/You: any person that participates in activities related to or organized by Beijing Hikers The event/activities: any activity or event organized by Beijing Hikers, from start to finish. Payment deadline: the date by which payment for the event must be received. --- Event Cancellation: Beijing Hikers cancels the event The decision to cancel or postpone the event will be made at the sole discretion of the event organisers. In what circumstances would the event be cancelled or postponed? The event will take place as planned unless: * Weather conditions are forecast to be dangerous. Example: heavy rain, snow, or thunderstorms. * Not enough participants sign up before the payment deadline. * Force majeure: persons or entities beyond the influence of the organisers make it impossible to for the event to take place. The event will go ahead regardless of air quality. What would happen if the event was cancelled or postponed? If the event is cancelled before the payment deadline we will give a full refund. If the event is postponed to a new date participants' payments will be transferred to the event on that new date. If the event is cancelled on the day of the event for reasons beyond control of the event organisers, there will be no refunds. --- Participant Cancellation: after paying, a participant decides to cancel their participation If you cancel your participation, can you get a refund? We can't give a refund for cancellations received on or after October 8, 2016. We can't give a refund if you don't show up on time on the morning of the event. If you miss the bus for the Challenge you may choose to join the later departure for the Hike for Fun. We can't give a refund if you cancel your participation because of air quality. We can give a full refund if you contact us before October 8, 2016. Refunds will be made within five working days. --- Payment deadline and how to make payment Payment deadline: September 1, 2017 Make your payment on or before the payment deadline of October 8, 2016 to guarantee your participation and to qualify for any applicable discounts. How to make payment Payment options Phone apps Pay with Wechat or Alipay. Bank transfer Pay by transfer from your Chinese bank account to our bank account. Card or cash Make an appointment to bring cash or your bank card to our office. Let us know which of the payment options you would like to use. We will then supply account details and further instructions. Identify yourself with your payment so that we don't get you mixed up with someone else.
