Event outline

  • Hike a moderately easy 2–3 hour trail between villages.
  • Play about in the courtyard of luxe village guesthouse with snacks/coffee/tea/drinks.
  • Make and bake gingerbread treats under the guidance of Chef Linda.

Itinerary outline

Itinerary for the hike
08:00 Depart from Liangmaqiao subway pickup and drive to the Lido Metropark Hotel Starbucks pickup.
08:30 Driving to the hike, stopping for a bathroom break.
10:30 Start the hike from Nanzhuang village.
11:30 Climb the ‘big hill’ and stop for a break by a mountain shrine.
12:00 Continue the hike.
13:00 Finish the hike at Lily Village, short drive to the guesthouse.
13:30 Snacks and drinks while we get ready for the baking class.
14:00 Baking and eating gingerbread treats.
15:00 Driving back to the city, stopping for a bathroom break.
16:30 Arrive at Lido Hotel, then on to Liangmaqiao.

We’ll visit A-Dan and Giles’s courtyard house for the post-hike snacks and activities.

Because of the COVID-19 situation we have some extra terms and conditions for participation.

In particular:

  • DO NOT participate if you are sick or showing symptoms of fever and/or have an elevated temperature, or have been in close contact with someone who was.
  • DO NOT participate if you have not completed any required quarantine after your return to Beijing.
  • You MUST agree to the mitigation and prevention measures outlined here and that Beijing Hikers will not be held responsible if any participants become sick.
