- 4–5 hours start to finish over 10km.
Limited space available, sign up early!
Early start! We’re leaving early to avoid the worst of the Dragonboat Festival holiday traffic. We may still get stuck in a traffic jam at some point. Bring a book to read, just in case, and we’d advise that you don’t make any fixed plans for the evening.
The sandy beaches and pools of water in Yunmeng Gorge make a perfect place to picnic and swim, especially when you need to escape from the city.
We’ll walk up the gorge and find a good spot, and you can take a dip in the water or follow our guides for a longer hike up into the hills.
The longer hike will be sort of an exploratory mission: there’s a really interesting looking boulder-filled valley that goes further up into the mountains, and we’ve always been curious about what is further up there. We’ll see where we can get within the time available—perhaps we’ll be able to find the source of the river.
If you’d prefer to concentrate on swimming, just relax in the water or in nearby area. The guides will let you know when it’s time to head out.
