Level 3+ / 450 RMB – Hike the Great Wall, starting from Stone Valley Village and following an line of wild wall up to a tall tower with 360° views of mountains, valleys, small villages, and a long line of wall heading high into the hills.
Upcoming hikes and trips
Ready for a great hike? Every week we run hikes and trips to the Great Wall, hills, mountains, forests, and villages around Beijing, with a wide range of hikes that are suitable for casual walkers as well as the super-fit.
Level 4 / 420 RMB – A tough hike up and down unrestored Great Wall, peaking by the Chinese Knot, a section where three lines of Great Wall come together. Note: if you're not comfortable with making a short-but-steep climb on somewhat tricky terrain, you might not find this hike an enjoyable experience.
Level 3 / 1,600 RMB (1,440 RMB for members) – Camp overnight in a tower at the Gubeikou Great Wall, and hike on to Jinshanling the next day. You’ll hike easier with just the essentials in your day pack; we’ll arrange delivery of the camping equipment to the campsite.
Level 4 / 500 RMB – A tough hike that follows the Great Wall from Jiankou's General's Tower all the way over to the Mutianyu Great Wall, starting on unrestored wall and finishing on a restored section.
Level 3+ / 450 RMB – Hike a recently repaired section of Great Wall that offers amazing long views before getting on to an unrepaired 'wild' stretch that will take us over to the Little West Lake.
Level 4+ / 500 RMB – Walk from Gubeikou to Jinshanling, following stretches of restored and unrestored Great Wall and taking a detour through the pretty farmland that surrounds Hemp Village, finishing all the way over at the eastern end of Jinshanling.
Level 4 / 390 RMB – Hike over the hills to isolated Shuitou Village, hidden deep in the hills of Huailai District. Great hilly scenery and exercise, and a walk through at a village that hasn't changed much since the '80s.
Level 3 / 1,600 RMB (1,440 RMB for members) – Camp overnight in a scenic spot on the Great Wall. You’ll hike easier with just the essentials in your day pack; we’ll arrange delivery of the camping equipment to the campsite.
Level 3+ / 420 RMB – After a reasonably tough hill climb of 40–50 minutes, we reach a beautiful, unrestored stretch of Great Wall. The hike continues along the wall, passing through towers, finishing in a rustic village.
