Over the Hills to the Forest Park
An A-to-B hike in the Badachu area’s hills and tops that follows forest paths, fire-break roads, and park trails.
With pretty much everywhere shut down for visitors it’s tough to find a good hike right now. We’ve found a few places to go for a walk, and, while they’re not quite the sort of trail we usually go for, it is definitely awesome to be able to get up into the hills and into the open air.
This hike is an A-to-B trail in the Badachu area’s hills and tops. The trail follows forest trails, concrete fire-break roads, and park paths through the hills. Up on the tops we get panoramic views of Beijing.
The first part of the hike is reasonably difficult, with some extended climbs and some ups and downs in and out of valleys and on ridgeline trails.
Landmarks along the way include the Small Tiger Head Mountain, the Big Tiger Head Mountain, Cuiwei Mountain, the Nanma Farm reservoir, and the ‘Laughing Ghost’ rock outcrops.
