Heituo Mountain Loop, 2018/09/15
See a set of 20 photos from the Heituo Mountain Loop hike—forests, mountains, and super views.
On a clear day, the views from the top of Heituo Mountain (1,530m) are amazing—you're looking down on the entire Jiankou Great Wall, and you can easily see all the way back to Beijing's CBD.
Guess what? This was a really clear day! Photos below!
The first part of the trail was still flooded from all the summer rain.
Mushroom season. We saw mushrooms all the way through the hike.
Up into the forest.
After we got out of the forest the views opened up. In this photo you can just see Nine-Eyes Tower and the ‘Big West’ Wall.
Taking a break before the final climb to the peak.
Up on the peak, elevation approx. 1,530m.
Not far from the peak is our favourite picnic spot.
