Occasionally we do trips to interesting places outside of Beijing, and in October we headed up to the A'ershan Forest National Park in Inner Mongolia. The area is amous for its volcanic landscapes, mountaintop lakes, deep forests, grasslands, rivers, and mineral-rich springs, and we spent 5 days exploring the scenery.

We picked a few of the best photos for this page; there are another forty or so in our A'ershan Forest National Park photo gallery.
