Hiking photos - Miaofengshan to Dajuesi, 2011/04/24
We started this walk by hiking up a hillside and on to a ridgeline, which provided us with great views of all of the surrounding valleys. Many of the trees were in bloom here, which made this a pretty hike. From the ridgeline we continued to follow a path along the hillside, heading for the plateau on the ridgeline above Dajue Temple and Vulture Rock. Along the way we had scenic views of many of the peaks in the vicinity of Miaofengshan.
We stopped for a lunch break on the plateau, and then continued over to a lookout point high above Vulture Rock. From there we savored the views before starting a long decent into a quiet forest. The forest eventually led us down into a valley and to the temple, which we visited after taking some time for snacks and a short rest.
Dajuesi is a Buddhist Temple, and sightseeing here gave us the chance to learn about Buddhist beliefs and symbolism while observing the statues and artwork. There were quite a few subtemples to visit in the complex and we made sure to get a good look at all of them before heading back to the city.
