Hiking photos – Yajishan Temple Fair, 2012/04/25

We've got a nice hiking trail around the three temples of Yajishan, and, when we time it right, we can get a look at their annual temple fair at the same time. It's a little difficult to time it right, because the fair is scheduled according to the lunar calendar.

We started off with a walk through the fairgrounds, where we saw all sorts of interesting goings-on: local arts and crafts, fortune-tellers, noodle-making and street food, and more.

Then, our local guide took us through his peach orchards on the way up to the three temples. The temples here are Daoist temples, and we learned a little about that as we climbed the steep stone stairs on the way to the top.

After a rest and a look about the temple right at the top of the hill, we followed a trail down from the back of the temples, looping around to get back to the beginning of the hike.
