Stone Valley Great Wall snow hike, 2017/01/07
See eighteen photos from a hike in the snow along the Stone Valley Great Wall.

Snow was falling as we hiked the Stone Valley Great Wall in early January. It’s always fun being out in the snow, and the icy scenery was especially awesome.
Photos below!

The snow was falling as we hiked up to the wall.

No other footprints in the snow – it’s going to be just us up there.

Switchbacks up the hill.

We took a break here before continuing up through the forest.

Just about at the wall.

Snow covers the ground at a dip in the wall.

Further up, we climbed on to a tower.

We continued along the wall.

Through an arch.

Snow piled up on a battlement.

We kept heading up along the wall.

Looking back for a photo.

The view when looking back.

We reached the General’s Tower.

Snow and frost on the branches.

A detour around a broken section of wall took us through snow-covered trees.

We hiked down a steep section here.
And that was the first snow hike of 2017.
