On this visit, we had lovely clear weather for hiking and got some excellent photos of an obscure section of Great Wall in Yanqing County.
We don't do this hike so often, because parts of it are very steep and tricky. But it's a great place to go for a good walk, with old, unrestored Great Wall winding through the hills.
The hike started off beside a steep section of Great Wall.
Before we could get on to the wall we had to pass this long-legged spider.
After a quick break to drink some water we continued up along the wall.
