We had near-perfect weather for this scouting trip. And luckily, too—in wet weather this hike would turn into a muddy and slippery slog.
Even then it wasn’t 100% smooth going. We took a few wrong turns in overgrown areas, blundered into thorns and nettles, waved off swarms of bugs, and had an encounter with a little pig which made us wonder if the big pig was going to make an appearance.
In a month or so, when the weather is cooler, most of those problems will be gone. Except maybe the pigs.
