Vulture Rock Ridge Loop hike, 2014/08/09
The trail along Vulture Rock Ridge joins two of our other trails, making a nice scenic walk with a lot of uphill. And lots of flowers!
The trail along Vulture Rock Ridge connects two of our other Level 3 hikes, and on this hike we joined them all up to make a nice scenic Level 4 walk with plenty of uphill.
We started out near Miaofengshan and hiked up into the hills, following trails through the hills up to Vulture Rock Ridge.
We were hoping for the broad views of Beijing from up top, but haze prevented us from seeing much.
Still, we got some very good exercise – parts of the trail are super-steep!
We made it to the high point on the hike in time for lunch, and after a nice break we moved on again, following a path through forest that eventually had us back at the start point.
At this time of the year there the hills are filled with wildflowers, and Huijie got photos of almost all of them. Our flower expert is out of the office at the time of writing, sorry! We'll try to add in the names of the flowers later.
