Hiking photos – Tai Chi and Silver Pagodas hike, 2012/08/04
On this outing, our group had the chance to combine the traditional Chinese art of Tai Chi with a visit to a set of 600 year old Buddhist pagodas which are located in front of a stunning backdrop of steep, rocky, jagged peaks. The peaceful, yet beautiful setting was a great place to practice Tai Chi with a master.
We started off by hiking up to the Silver Pagodas, an old temple site in the hills of Huairou.
The Silver Pagodas are hundreds of years old. There was a monastery and temple here, too, but both was destroyed during war.
We took a short walk from the pagodas to reach the place where we'd do the tai chi.
