Aershan National Forest Park, Inner Mongolia, 2013/08
Photos of the hills, crater lakes, woods, and rivers of A’ershan, Inner Mongolia.
The A’ershan National Forest Park is located at the northeast end of Inner Mongolia, and we travelled out for a look about in early August. While there, we hiked in the rolling hills of the area, and spent a day exploring the crater lakes, lava flows, and rivers in an area that had been previously volcanically active.
On the first day of our visit we did some nice walking in the hills around A’ershan town – it rained on us a little bit, but we also saw some blue sky.
On the second day, we headed into the park itself to visit the various ‘heavenly’ crater lakes and other sites produced by ancient volcanic activity. It was a little busy in the park, but we still had a good day looking about.
We did a little bit more hiking on the third day, and we also made sure to pay a visit to the A’ershan hot spring!
