Badaling Ancient Great Wall, 2021/08/29

The weather was terrific for this walk on the Great Wall to the west of the touristy wall at Badaling—see 12 shots of the wall and surrounding scenery.

The Great Wall here is repaired, and they did a good job on it (rather than the recent cover-with-concrete style).

The ticket prices are in line with the touristy parts of the Badaling Great Wall that’s a few hills over, but you’ll see far fewer visitors, especially after you’ve hiked up the steep stairs to the higher towers here. Actually, that’s probably why there are fewer visitors—it’s really steep, and no convenient cablecar!
