On this two-day trip we hiked the Great Wall at Gubeikou and camped overnight in one of the big towers. On the second day we hiked on to the Jinshanling Great Wall.

We began at Gubeikou, hiking through the village and then up on to the Great Wall. The hiking was relaxed, and we took our time to enjoy the views.

We set up camp in a tower and settled in for the evening.

Not long after that it rained a little, and the fog and mist rolled in. Good thing we were all set up in the tower – we would have got wet!

The next day we hiked on to Jinshanling, passing through Spider Valley and Hemp Village on the way.
