Hiking photos – Dragon Spring Valley, 2012/10/17
We don't often visit Dragon Spring Valley because the area is too crowded during weekends—full of people being noisy and messy, and we often see huge groups of people out for teambuilding exercises. Not quite what we want to see when out hiking!
But, on a weekday it's often less crowded. We scheduled a visit on a Wednesday, and instead of seeing people all over the place we saw some great scenery – Great Wall, hills, valleys, and autumn colours – and we took a short boat ride as well!

The beginning of the hike was lined with leaves.

The middle section of the hike was on and around the Great Wall – here's the beginning.

From the wall we could see a village and hillside houses.

We walked up to and past the tower in the background.

The climb on the wall was steep in places.

Looking back, we saw the wall in the midst of the hills and bush.

Another good spot for a photo.

Back down in the valleys, we found deep pools of water filling the canyon.

Don't want to fall in here – the water was freezing!

This last pool could only be crossed with the aid of a special Duck Boat.
