For our Gubeikou to Simatai (via Jinshanling) Great Wall Challenge we hiked an extra section of the Gubeikou Great Wall before continuing on all the way to Simatai. With moderate temperatures, clear skies, and a little breeze, the weather was perfect for a good long hike, with some very fit hikers finishing in very good time.

Statistics: Approx. 6.25 hours in total, with 4.25 hours of walking over approx. 18km; start height 205m, finish height 279m, highest point 606m (highest tower of the Simatai section). Total ascent approx. 1,400m, total descent approx. 1,500m. Estimated 2457kCal burned.
