Miaofengshan Super Loop, 2016/10/22
Sixteen pictures from a fall hike in the mountains around Miaofengshan Temple.

This is one of our longer hikes, in a popular hiking area just past the Fragrant Hills.
On this crisp autumn day we had cloud cover and rolling fog for most of the hike.
The hike took us to the three main peaks of the area, and when the fog cleared we had great views of the surrounding valleys and parts of west Beijing.
We like this hike in autumn because of all the beautiful colours of the leaves as they change to the reds, yellows, and browns of the season.
After the last peak we headed down via Miaofengshan Temple, taking a look around before finishing the hike.

Views of west Beijing and some encroaching clouds.

The hike goes through a park area atop Rose Peak, and we walked a short distance along a new wooden walkway.

Normally yellow and orange clothing isn't good camouflage, but today it was just perfect.
