On the Rolling Hills hike we pass through four different villages and a mix of farmland and 'eco' areas where the farmland has been converted to tree nurseries. There's always something new going on, which means there's usually a surprise each visit: cows here, sheep there, a new fence here, no longer a trail there but now there's a new one here … you need a good sense of direction to stay on track sometimes.

On this visit there weren't too many surprises. Just unseasonal rain and drizzle, a tree or two felled on our old trail, and a locked gate on another part of the trail. No big problem!

The little secateurs weren't so useful here. We could have done with the choppers.

This used to be a cornfield, but now it's part of an area that isn't allowed to be farmed anymore.
