This was the second in a series of events with Gung Ho! Pizza and Patagonia, where we get a big crew of Beijingers together and head out to the Jiankou Great Wall for a clean up hike and a post-walk feast of pizza.
Previously we've done the clean ups in spring and summer, so the scenery on this visit was a little different than usual. The lack of leaves on the trees revealed some extra trash to pick up, and we came down with a haul of 18.7 kilograms.
After the hike we headed to the Gung Ho Hut in the village at Jiankou for a post-hike feast of pizza, plus soup and snacks, all provided by Gung Ho! Pizza.
With the New Zealand connections of Beijing Hikers and Gung Ho, we were able to include some fine beverages courtesy of Kiwi companies Moa Beer and Villa Maria wines.
Plus, with Patagonia on board, we were also able to dish out a little Patagonia swag as well.
