Yanqing Great Wall, 2013/04/13

In Brief: Photos from a walk along wild wall on a windy weekend.

Our Yanqing Great Wall hike follows a line of old and rough Great Wall near the border of Beijing and Hebei.

The path we follow for this hike takes us on and off the wall quite a bit, and on this visit we were off the wall a little more than usual, worried about being blown off by the strong winds!

We stopped for lunch at a nice high point that we use sometimes as a campsite, and then continued on to finish at a small village at the end of a long valley, passing the village reservoir on the way to the carpark where we found our bus.

We skirted the section in front – too crumbly to walk on, and we’d have been worried about being blown off by the strong winds.
