Tianmen Mountain Rock Arch, 2017/1/15
20 photos from our first hike up to the big arch in the cliffs at Tianmen Mountain. Also, snow!

Tianmen Mountain is part of a park area tucked away in the mountains by the Miyun Reservoir.
This hike was a last-minute replacement for the White River ice hike, which we weren’t able to do because of thin ice.
The hike up to the rock arch worked out as a great alternative, especially with the heavy fall of snow on the day.
We hiked from the base of the mountain up to the rock arch on the park pathways, and then down the other side, passing frozen waterfalls on the way.
