Walled Village to Huanghuacheng Great Wall Hike, 2017/08/06
See 14 beautiful photos of a hike to the Huanghuacheng Great Wall – blue skies, green hills, great views.

The weather was perfect for this walk on the Great Wall at Huanghuacheng – blue skies, green hills, and great views of the wall and natural scenery.
We began near the Walled Village, and hiked hill trails to get up on the unrepaired part of the Huanghuacheng Great Wall.
We followed the wall down into a valley, and then up another steep hill to finish with a walk on the restored part of the Huanghuacheng Great Wall.
On such a clear day the views were amazing. See our favourite photos below.

Taking a break on the trail up to the wall.

Great views from the top of a tower.

Everyone is up, and we’re getting ready to continue the hike.

You can't see it in this photo, but one of those bricks has a ‘maker’s mark’ – not commonly spotted on the wall in this area.

Hiking down a slippery section.

We took a break in a tower to escape the sun for a while.

Coming down from a steep section.

We took a short detour through some orchards beside the wall.

In front of us is the last steep part - abig climb up to the top.

This photo was taken from a spot halfway up the steep part we saw in the previous photo.

Steep and narrow stairs on the wall.

Almost at the top.

Standing at the highest point of the repaired section.
