Yoga and Meditation at the Bashang Grasslands, August 2016
See photos from a weekender at the Bashang Grasslands that included outdoor yoga and meditation, organised for YogaDigest magazine.
YogaDigest magazine came to us with an idea for a trip that would include meditation and yoga in an outdoor setting, and asked if we’d be interested in helping them put something together.
We thought it was a great idea, and helped them organise all the logistics—transport, guides, accommodation and food, plus we picked out quiet spots atop hills for meditation and relaxation.
The group drove out on a Saturday morning, and after getting through some horrible traffic we arrived at Bashang, 280km north of Beijing.
After a late lunch we hiked up to a hilltop for a 90-minute meditation session, led by one of the YogaDigest experts.
We watched the sun setting and then headed back down for dinner at our guesthouse.
The next day we woke up early for a pre-breakfast session of yoga under a beautiful blue sky.
We headed back to the guesthouse for breakfast, and then headed out with a longer hike up to a nearby peak for more meditation.
