The Great Wall camping trips we’ve been doing this summer have been popular and superb fun, and our Great Wall Spur camping trip was no exception – very fun, but very hot!
We started off slowly, climbing a steep hill trail to get to the Great Wall.
After taking a rest in the shade of “Bridget’s Tower”, we continued along the wild Great Wall, following it up and over a ridge and through a forested section to find our campsite, a lovely stretch of wall between a tower and a rising ridge.
After good teamwork to set up camp, we relaxed and enjoyed a big BBQ while we waited for sunset. (And cooler night time temperatures!)

After a tough climb up to the Great Wall we stopped for a rest in a tower.
The hike took us further along this stretch of unrenovated ‘wild’ Great Wall.
