    A moderately difficult hike that follows a line of wild wall up to a tall tower with 360° views of mountains, valleys, small villages, and a long line of wall heading high into the hills. Some sections extremely tricky underfoot.

  6. Views over the lake from the Huanghuacheng ‘Lakeside’ Great Wall.

    Huanghuacheng ‘Lakeside’ Great Wall and Longquanyu Great Wall

    Hike up and over repaired Great Wall and cross the glass bridge in the Lakeside Great Wall Scenic Area, and then hike out the back of the park area to find quieter trails and unrepaired Great Wall at Longquanyu. Moderately difficult, with shorter options.

    Wake up on the Great Wall on a supported camping trip. Moderately difficult hikes on both days, camp on the wall or in a tower.
  2. Zhenbei Tower, on the Jiankou Great Wall

    Jiankou Great Wall to Beigou Village

    Level 4  From ¥600 per person (Currently unavailable.)
    Hike on hill trails and Great Wall between Jiankou and Beigou Village, getting a look at both ‘wild’ and repaired Great Wall and finishing with a scenic walk down into Beigou Village.
  3. Hiking down to the Mutianyu Great Wall.

    Jiankou to Mutianyu Great Wall

    Visit the rugged Jiankou Great Wall and hike over to the restored Mutianyu Great Wall on a trail that gives great views of both ‘wild’ and repaired Great Wall.
  4. On the way up the repaired section of the Great Wall at Huanghuacheng.

    A short-but-steep hike where you’ll see a mix of unrestored ‘wild’ Great Wall as well as a restored section, with superb views of Great Wall, mountains, and lakes.
